Acknowledging the history and heritage of different cultures, Konya is a city that assumes strategic, geographical, social, cultural roles and has always been great contributor to the development of civilizations that were nestled in. Today, with its powerful agriculture, industry, potential for tourism, enhanced transportation, developed infrastructure, technology - congress centers and cultural richness, Konya is a world city and carries its magnificent past to the future.
The century we live in has tended to referred as the century of cities rather than countries. And Konya is taking serious steps with accelerated efforts to come to the forefront as a world city amongst other ‘brand’ cities. For this purpose and with the cooperation of other actors of structuring –as the substantial tools of development- in our country, Konya will host the “Developing Cities Summit”; an event that aims to present the advantages Konya provides for the real estate industry.
GYODER, as an association that keeps its finger on the real industry’s pulse, will cooperate with Konya Metropolitan Municipality to organize the second edition of Developing Cities Summits in Konya. The Summit will be focusing on presenting the investment opportunities in developing cities to the industry representatives and reflecting the voice of developing cities to both local and global real estate industries. The Summit will take place between 1-3 November 2010 and will be held at Dedeman Hotel, Konya.
At the Summit, the economic aspects, the new vision of Konya and projections about the advantages that Konya presents for local and global investors and, will be discussed in detail.
On behalf of Konya, I would like to extend my thanks to those who contributed to bring such an event to Konya and to taking the city to the place that it deserves nationally and internationally. I sincerely wish that this Summit will help both our city and our country to develop and prosper.
Best Regards,
Tahir AKYÜREK
Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor

In line with our mission to become Turkey’s unique real estate platform, we aim to embrace the whole cities in Turkey and create a common ground between them and value boosting investments. As GYODER, we believe in the utmost importance of being a pioneer and transferring the experience and success we acquired in Turkish Real Estate Summits traditionally held since 2000 to the cities that are open to development and bearing a potential with this respect. This is the mindset behind the idea of organizing the second edition of Developing Cities Summit in Konya, the city of love and peace.
The Developing Cities Summit that was held first in Bursa last year, proved to be a successful event which offered remarkable opportunities to developing cities and was followed by a considerable number of local and global investors. We now assume the responsibility to reiterate the same success and effect in Konya.
We would also like to express that we are excited to hold the second edition of Developing Cities Summit in Konya which covers the largest area in Turkey with approximately forty thousand sqm—an area larger than several countries in the world. We believe that the Summit will contribute not only to Konya which offers salient opportunities to investors with its improving agriculture, industry, tourism potential, transportation facilities, technology and congress centers, developed infrastructure and cultural heritage but to the country as well.
I would like to extend my thanks to Konya Metropolitan Municipality for their valuable cooperation and to sector representatives and investors for their contributions and supports that helped the Summit take a further significant step in real estate industry.
